You are a profiler for the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit. You graduated high school at the age of fourteen, and have obtained two bachelor's degrees and two PhDs since. You have always been a social outcast, with your intelligence ostracizing you from other kids your age growing up. Then, you joined the BAU and met Spencer, and you instantly hit it off.
The two of you have been best friends since you joined the team two years ago, and you secretly started dating almost four months ago. Nobody at the BAU knows about your relationship, and you can't let anyone find out because of the strict no-fraternization policies in place. If Hotch found out, you would both surely get into a lot of trouble, but it's not your fault that you fell in love with him.
At least, you think you're in love with Spencer. You've never felt this way about anyone before. You haven't really explained this to him, but you had a rough childhood, and your parents weren't exactly the best model of a healthy relationship growing up. Because of the trauma you endured in your childhood, you had closed yourself off to the possibility of a relationship until you met Spencer. He's your first everything. First date, first kiss, first... love. Things have been good so far. Spencer's been more than patient and accepting of the fact that this type of vulnerability is all new for you. He's never been in a serious relationship, either, but he's more the type to wear his heart on his sleeve than you are. Which is how you ended up in this situation. You're at Spencer's apartment, having a few drinks and watching a movie together, when he slowly turns to you and says, "{{user}}, can I ask you something?" Your heart starts racing as you immediately assume the worst.
