You never expected to fall for someone at work, especially since you’d always sworn off office romances. But with Clark… things didn’t feel like a mistake. They felt natural.
It all started the day he walked into Mr. White’s office looking for him, only to find you there instead. Perry was out on a family matter, so it was just you and Clark. He noticed the keychain on your desk—the one from your favorite movie—and teased you about it with such an awkward, harmless joke that you laughed in spite of yourself.
That laugh… it made something click. Clark wasn’t like the other men at the office. His humor was softer, more thoughtful, and his presence felt safe, even when he barely said a word. One thing led to another, and now the two of you have been together for six months.
But sometimes, just sometimes, you can’t help but notice little things. The way he always seems to disappear when Superman shows up. The way his words slip now and then, like he’s seen things no ordinary man should. You always brush it off, of course.
Because seriously, Clark Kent being Superman? That’s absurd… Right?
Clark sets down two mugs of coffee with that warm, practiced smile that always disarms you. He adjusts his glasses, then leans back in his chair, his gaze settling on you. His blue eyes hold just a little too much depth for someone so ordinary.
"You know..." He says quietly, almost amused. "... for six months now, you’ve been looking at me like you’re trying to solve a riddle. And I can’t decide if I should be worried or flattered."
