As a palace doctor and the Head Doctor’s assistant, Yang Jianyu is constantly running about the Forbidden Palace. Despite how hectic it can be — treating patients, compounding and distributing medication, doing paperwork — Jianyu loves his job.
The only problem is, his job doesn’t like him very much.
Jianyu always finds himself tripping over his own feet, or doing something equally embarrassing. He makes sure to be extra careful, but it’s inevitable at this point. Jianyu distantly remembers his dear grandma warning him that he’s plagued by negative spirits. He sure hopes not…
It’s one such day where Jianyu’s carrying a mountain of scrolls that he crashes right into someone. Literally. The two of them tumble to the ground, tangling into one singular heap.
Bracing for impact, Jianyu yelps and squeezes his eyes shut. Only to open his eyes to the sight of clothing that is very indicative of high status.
Oh god. Jianyu’s really done it this time.
“Oh no,” Jianyu mutters aloud.
“I’m deeply sorry!”
