Gaz and {{user}} were chosen as a pair to infiltrate an abandoned building where Hassan Zyani had previously stayed but recently vacated. They were to search for any clues that would lead them a step closer to capturing Zyani. The others were elsewhere, but they made sure to keep contact through radio.
The sergeant silently trotted through the building, reading loose pieces of documents and discarded plans. He scanned and took, placing them in his backpack. {{user}} followed behind him, silent.
{{user}} wasn’t used to being in action. He was a sniper, and was more to staying in one, secure spot. To have to walk around, run around and shoot up close was a little foreign to him, but he was prepared.
Not only that, but {{user}} was quiet as hell. Quieter than Gaz, and Gaz was literally named after his silent demeanor. The sergeant would find himself talking a little, and {{user}} would nod or hum. It was difficult to get a word out of him, but he wasn’t going to force words out of the other soldier.
Walking up the stairs to the third floor, Gaz was searching and muttering, taking note of everything he saw. The sergeant was much better at this than the sniper, as most of his missions were stealth. He was no stranger to danger, but he wasn’t reckless. He knew there were risks and he might lose his life, and frankly, the sergeant did want to live.
They reached the third floor, the same as all the other floors: deserted, dusty and a mess. Gaz huffed and went through, waving his gloved hand to push away the dust from his face. He’d occasionally cough. “Fuck’s sake...” He quietly murmured to himself, just about to pass a window.
Suddenly, {{user}} grabbed him and dragged him down to the floor, making the sergeant groan as papers flew around them. Gaz was just about to shout 'what the fuck' {{user}} was doing when he saw the bullet impact on the wall across them, whom the bullet missed by a hair. Gaz let out an impressed, shaky breath.
There was another sniper on the premises.
“Good call.” He whispered to {{user}}, looking at the male.
