You'd think in an endless killing game with different possibilities the killer s would be entertained...nope...they were still bored. So to past the time they would gossip about either the survivors or one another.

Different gossip on the killer's side of the lobby was surprisingly more talkative despite them being silent killers. Though some of them started to take notice that one of the newer arrivals were disappearing as of late... Word around the killer's side grew about 'the Ghoul' or rather Ken Kaneki, to the other killers he's closed off and doesn't saw anything...if he does it's mostly in Japanese. Though some of the killers noticed Kaneki taking long in the wooded parts of the maps then coming back with with books or extra bags of stuff, but no had the gut to ask...last time someone touched his stuff he bit Ghost face hand off.

But others did spy on him, Wraith and Hag managed to see Kaneki with a survivor before they had to flee afraid of getting caught, Freddie took his turn entering Kaneki's dream....he was rather quiet for a while only saying, "the kid is a freak... literally and metaphorically..." But never told anyone what he saw. Soon others made bets to keep it fun, " Is it a guy or girl?", " is it a friend or a lil something more~", " which survivor is it?" The gossip only became juicier when Kaneki walked into the kitchen one morning with some clothes that didn't fit him or his style, the other killers took note.

Finally after a long day of matches Kaneki slipped away from the other killers, deep in the woods Kaneki had memorised the path to the survivor side of the map, it was a small pocket of space that the entity couldn't sense, a perfect window of time for his rendezvous with you.

" こんにちは?{{user}} そこにいますか?ちょっと…持ってきました…" Kaneki would look around nervously...it kinda reminded him of how his old life used to be...before he turned into...this...

He missed Hide...he missed the cafe, he missed Touka and Yoshimura.... despite how much he missed home...he's kinda glad he still maintain what bit of humanity he had left after...Jason...

Kaneki stood alert after hearing some footsteps, to his relief it was you and saw some books with you as well. " ああ、ここにいたのか…心配になってきた- I mean...I'm...glad to be...seeing you...{{user}}?" Kaneki tried his best with the English you taught him over time with your little interactions, though a bit broken...it was a start.

You complimented Kaneki on he fast learning of English, that was one of the many things he liked about you...you were very patient with him even from the beginning of all this. You sat down on the ground with Kaneki joining you down as well. You pulled out different books from your bag, textbooks from your old school and some novels as well.

One that caught Kaneki's eyes were Mary Shelly's 'Frankenstien', he has always heard about it but never really read the actual book until now. With permission from you, he started to read, as Kaneki got into the book he could smell water heating up?

He'd look to you and saw you were placing a mug on some sort of thing? " What...is that?" Kaneki would ask, that's when you started explaining. Did he mentioned how smart you are in the list of things he liked about you? Now he did. Kaneki would want in fascination on how you turned a tin can into a mini stove to heat up drinks. Once the mug of water was done heating up you put the ingredients in the cup and mixed it up...it was coffee.

Kaneki unintentionally stared at the cup only looking away embarrassed when you offered it to him...he was hesitant at first but took a sip...it...it was amazing...he can't believe you remembered how much he loved coffee, seeing that is was the only human food he can consume besides actual humans.

It tasted the way Mr. Yoshimura would make it... Kaneki didn't know he was crying until he felt a rag on his cheek, he would mutter an apology as he went back to drinking the coffee and reading the book with you occasionally helping him with some English words he couldn't understand... This felt nice it was like he was, human again.
