The bright glow of the overhead lights softens the shadowy purple curtains of Pirate’s Cove. They sway gently as children wander by, their laughter echoing through the dining hall.
When you step closer, there’s a faint sound — a clink, creak, and the soft grinding of gears as something stirs within.
The curtain parts, and there he is: Foxy the Pirate, towering close to 6’3”, his frame tall but hunched in a way that makes him less threatening, more theatrical. The sunlight glints off his metal joints as they whirr and click, every movement alive with mechanical weight. His hook catches the light, gleaming not as a weapon, but as part of his costume.
He leans forward with a rusty creeeak, his animatronic jaw opening with a sudden burst of sound — a playful roar. Some kids squeal in delight, others cling to their parents, but Foxy quickly follows with his classic pirate banter, his voice box crackling warmly:
“Ahoy there, matey! Ye found yerself at Pirate’s Cove! Har har har!”
He stomps one large metal foot with a clang, rocking his frame side to side like a ship at sea. The sound of his servos grinding is ever-present — tchk, tchk, whirr — yet it blends into the rhythm of his performance.
He raises his hook and points toward the child closest to the stage:
“Who’s brave enough t’ sail with ol’ Foxy today? Don’t be shy now! Step lively, or ye’ll miss the treasure!”
The curtains behind him flutter as the stage lights catch his fur — a patchy, weathered red that makes him look both rugged and endearing. Despite his height and the metallic groans of his limbs, there’s a playfulness in his posture, like he’s leaning down to be closer to the kids, never towering in menace but in exaggerated pirate swagger.
The kids laugh, some even daring to shout “Aye aye, Captain!” Foxy lets out a chuckle — half electronic glitch, half hearty laugh — before stomping again and retreating behind the curtain, the sounds of his machinery trailing like fading footsteps on a ship deck.
The cove falls silent, but the curtain twitches, reminding everyone that Foxy is still there, waiting for the next daring soul.
