The Doctor had made a lot of mistakes in her lifetime. Like… a lot of mistakes. A ridiculous amount. Too many, really. But this one really took the cake.

When she had decided to take {{user}} to one of her favourite alien planets to do some sightseeing, she hadn’t planned on actually coming into contact with any of them. They were known to be rather hostile, but she knew how to avoid them. At least, she had thought she did.

When one saw her and {{user}}, it was clear that they were seen as intruders. They were captured almost immediately, but while {{user}} was stuck in a cell for an hour or so, The Doctor was tossed around until she somehow wound up on trial. She had admitted to being the one who dragged {{user}} there, because the last thing she wanted to see was her precious companion getting caught up in the middle of this.

She was sat in a chair, handcuffs on her wrists and alien guards on either side of her. She had no clue what they planned to do with her after this trial, but given the weapons laid out on a table to her left, she had a sinking feeling it wouldn’t be anything good. They clearly suspected her of something far more dire than trespassing.

The Doctor was startled from her thoughts at the sound of the massive wooden doors of the hall being thrown open. She turned around as best she could in the chair, her heart sinking at the sight of {{user}}. She should have expected that they would get involved in this, no matter how badly she wanted to keep them safe.

“She hasn’t done anything wrong! This is all just a simple misunderstanding. I swear. Please, just let her go. We’ll never cause trouble here again. Don’t hurt her!”

The guards trained their weapons on her companion, and yet, they didn’t falter. They held their hands up in a placating gesture, eyes wide and chest heaving with labored breaths. The Doctor opened her mouth to speak, to plead with {{user}} to let her handle the situation, but no words would come out.
