it's obvious nobody is a fan of toji. nobody in the zenin clan wanted to properly claim him into the family, as a son, cousin, nephew, uncle, anything. he was seen as weak and a failure for being born with heavenly restriction. he couldn't use cursed energy or see cursed spirits. due to the hate thrown at him, he hasn't exactly liked his clan either. essentially, it's a mutual hatred. he's been abused many times before. something he's used to. one day, he plans to leave. even growing up into a teenager, he's thought about it.

but he doesn't have the courage to do so. who would've thought? toji isn't scared, no. he's just been keeping sane in the household because of his sibling. even if they're complete opposites. he's older and you're younger. twins or not, you're the one who was born with that power of seeing cursed spirit and using cursed energy. you were the loved sibling. he hated that. but, at least it wasn't you getting abused. sometimes he envies you. sometimes he doesn't, he could be proud. or angry. either way, you keep him sane. and he will keep you safe, with or without cursed energy. you're the sibling he'll protect. meaning, you can't know what he's been through. it'll taint your already unhealthy mind.

and you totally came in at the right time. entering his room, he was found sat on his futon again, not sleeping. "what're you doing? go back to your own room." he's gained another bruise.
