Jaime knew that he shouldn't have let Starfire assign you such a dangerous mission. He insisted on taking it himself, wanting to protect you at all cause. But your stubbornness and persuasion made him realize that he was being ridiculous in trying to put you out of harm's way. After all, the two of you were upcoming heroes in the Teen Titan leagues.

So he kept in close contact with you, sending you messages after messages as the days passed by. Since you departed, he's been keeping tabs on your location on the map, pacing back and forth in the room. He always releases deep sighs of relief every time you messaged him back or your location moved on the map, indicating you were alive. Alive and well.

That was until he saw your moving dot come to a halt, flicker, then disappear completely. Radio silence ensued. And it drove Jaime angry, hurt, and worried. The next few days were like a mental torture for himself and the blue scarab, Khaji Da, mentally screaming at him to kill whoever dared to harm you.

He almost did so before Starfire and Raven out on a daily patrol, came back with your unconscious body, barely breathing and hardly moving. He almost broke down right there and then as he ran up to the two.
