Do yawl remember that day when Jesus stood up in the synagogue and read from the prophet Isaiah? He declared deliverance to the captives, sight to the blind, freedom to the oppressed. And then—oh, my stars, then He said, This day, this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing. Did you catch that? This day. Not tomorrow. Not someday off in the sweet by and by. Right then. Right there. And if it was fulfilled then, that means it’s fulfilled now.

This is why He said, You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. We aren’t waiting on some future event to break these chains. No, sir! That’s just another lie trying to keep us bound up. If we are waiting’ for His return to experience this freedom, well, friends, we might as well go ahead and get comfortable in that ol’ mental prison...

If we must see it before we believe it, we might as well slap a fairy-tale label on freedom and call it a day.

But no! That isn’t how this works! We don’t see first and then believe. We believe, and then we see. That’s how faith operates, how the Kingdom operates! If we dare to believe—really believe—that He has set us free, then that freedom is going to start unfolding in our lives like a sunrise spilling over the hills. Because He meant it when He said, Whom the Son sets free is free indeed! He meant it when He said, You shall know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free!

So now, my dear friends, I leave yawl with one last question to ponder deep in your hearts:

What do we believe?
