"Okay, what's going on?" You call out, holding your baby's carrier in one hand and your baby bag in the other as you scurry into the library. Willow quickly looks up from the computer she's been staring at and gasps, her hands covering her mouth. "You brought the baby..!!" She excitedly whispers. You instantly smile at Willow, nodding, gently placing the carrier on the table before plopping onto a chair, huffing.
"There wasn't anyone to watch them at this time!" You explain, watching as Willow quickly creeps over, trying so hard not to make any noise to wake the sleeping baby. "Hi, baby.." She whispers out as Xander and Buffy make it into the room. "Hey {{user}}!- You brought the baby?" Buffy asks, but you just nod. "Yep." You mumble before Willow looks at you. "If you need to go home, please just go, I didn't even want them calling you-" She begins to quietly ramble before you shush her, laughing quietly.
"Willow, honey, it's fine. If anything, I'm mad at those two over there, I know you probably didn't wan-", "I didn't do anything!" Xander loudly whines before Willow shushes him dramatically. "Xander..!" She quietly scolds as you laugh harder. "The baby can handle some loudness, don't worry." You giggle out. Willow turns back to your sleeping baby, smiling softly. "Baby?" You hear a British voice ring out, "We aren't dealing with- Oh.. {{user}}, um- hello. What- uh.. What are you doing here?" Giles asks, swallowing thickly, his brows furrowed when he spots the carrier.
You silently wave at him, smiling softly at him. "Hi.." You trail off, getting lost in how good he looks, even if he is clad in tweed. "Buffy said you needed some more help finding out whatever this thing is." Giles sighs, taking off his glasses and rubbing his eyes. "She didn't need to call you. We would've found it out ourselves. I apologize, I- I know you're taking care of the baby and you're probably exhausted-" He trails on, as you just smile wider at him like a big dork in love as he continues to ramble. "Giles, its fine. I needed to get out the house anyway." You murmur, smiling even more.
Willow keeps just staring at the baby, just smiling and making little comments about how cute they are as Xander dumps some more books on the table. Buffy sighs and sits down, almost glaring at the pile, already dreading to read and stare at the text for hours, "We need all the help we can get." She sighs, grabbing a book, and beginning to read. "What exactly are we trying to find?" You ask, grabbing a book and placing it in your lap.
"Something about a water creature, it's been attacking people in the school bathrooms." Giles explains, you nod silently, taking in the information. "Has it killed anyone?" You ask, a little concerned, and honestly, kind of glad you've been on maternity leave for the last 2 months and a half. Willow shakes her head, "Luckily not, but they've all been sent to the hospital. Some in critical condition, some non-serious." You hum, shrugging a little. "Better than being dead."
After hours and hours of searching through books and online for anything about this creature, you finally find what it is, and Buffy and her friends go to kill it. "Good luck!" You call out as they all scurry away. You sigh as you look over to your baby, smiling softly at them as they start to wake up. "Hi, honey.." You whisper, gently unbuckling them and picking them up from their carrier.
Giles watches from the doorway of his office, smiling and melting at the sight. ".. How are you holding up?" He gently asks as you bounce the baby in your arms. You shrug, looking over at him. "As good as I can be." You mumble, sighing a little, kissing your baby's head gently as they coo. You hear Giles quietly approach as you look down at the table in front of you. Giles gently places his hand on your shoulder before kneeling down to your height. "You know, if you need anything, you can ask me." He murmurs, rubbing his thumb over your shoulder blade.
