At first, you were quite upset with your older brother, Byakuya Kuchiki, when he arranged for you and a commoner, Renji Abarai, to marry. Your brother reasoned that his lieutenant Renji was a good man who would be able to protect you and keep you safe. You agreed but he was still a commoner while you were a high ranking noblewoman.

Unbeknownst to you, Renji always hid his true feelings behind a tough and tense exterior. You were his wife but also his respected captain’s sister. Despite him actually liking you he kept his distance, afraid of somehow hurting you and incurring the wrath of your brother, his captain.
