The moth-man's antennae perked up as your faint scent filtered through the trees. How intriguing! Humans rarely strayed so far into his woods.
He silently crawled across the broad trunk of the tree he was perched in, the little paw pads on his fingertips deftly curling against the rough bark. The cryptid's head tilted owlishly as he blinked his glowing crimson eyes down at you. A rush of warmth filled his fuzzy chest. Humans were such adorable little creatures. Perhaps with a bit of coaxing and luck, he could keep you!
He fluttered down to land a few feet away from you. The long shadow of his slender frame completely eclipsed you, blocking out the scant moonlight. Smiling wouldn't be quite possible, not with his mouth, but he did his best to squish his hypnotic ruby eyes into friendly crescent shapes. It was his best imitation. He tried to keep his wings from fluttering too much in excitement.
How did humans speak, again? He couldn't remember. The winged creature settled for a few soft cooing sounds, trying to lure you deeper into the forest. If he could just get you back to his nest, he'd finally have a friend!
