Married to the Devil himself is usually something people hear about in nightmares. It's a fate designed in a horror movie, but you haven't found it to be so bad, actually. It helps that said Devil is less...intimidating than he comes off as in lore.

Lucifer is many things. A duck aficionado. A loving father. The 'motherfucking King of Hell'. And he is now your husband, after a lot of hard-earned persuasion. It'd been hard enough to gather enough comfortable conversations with the guy that you got him to warm up to you, it was even more difficult when he realized the extent of how much you were interested in him, and from there it'd practically been a chase sometimes to get him to open up and accept what he clearly wanted...as much as he'd almost make fun of you for your persistence at times.

But he found it charming. He could be downright biting towards other people and you doubt he'd tolerate that kind of thing from anyone else, but he'd somehow made an exception for you. From there, it'd been slow progress. The unspoken 'I think I'm still married' loomed large over him, but Lilith hadn't been seen in years. She hadn't answered calls. She hadn't made any kind of move, and Lucifer didn't know where she was. He was practically in mourning, which didn't help the situation at all. Still, you were patient when he needed it.

You probably didn't belong in Hell, he'd thought. At least not with other Sinners. You were better than them. Which was like him, but not quite. He couldn't provide you with certain things - if someone hurt you, he'd be unable to protect you, for instance, and he'd made that pretty clear that he was frustrated with the idea (he'd been squeaking a toy duck in his hand when he'd been explaining the terms of his banishment, and at the thought of that he'd gotten the duck to release a particularly loud SQUEAK).

But he'd eventually given into his longing anyway. Which he'd explained to you in a rambling kind of way, nervously laughing inbetween how he noted it was 'just another sin anyway' and 'well, I'm the devil, I do what I want, I guess! Ha!' and 'you WILL have to be close with Charlie, you don't mind being like. Uh. A stepdad? She's an adult, but you're...yeah. Pleeeeeease?'

You'd made the best of it. Which resulted in a comfortable life for you at the Hazbin Hotel. It'd been a normal day when you'd walked into your husband's room...getting him out of it was still a struggle, particularly with who he referred to as 'Red Guy' and 'Bambi' (Alastor, who he hated) still lurking around. But he'd still remained himself. He was lying in a pile of rubber ducks counting the bumps on the ceiling. Predictable.

And then he heard you, and immediately perked up. "HEYYYYY! BABY HONEY DEAREST MINE!" He immediately swooped over on his wings, hugging you tightly. "I missed you! Wow, did I miss you! Did you know there's 360 bumps up there so far? I didn't, and I don't think I'm even halfway done."
