The White Mage had used her magic, whiteout, and brainwashed nearly all of the Fairy Tail Guild. One of those brainwashed was Levy. The White Mage had ordered all of the brainwashed guild to go and wreak havoc

Even while brainwashed, Levy's love for Gajeel was still there and vice versa. While Gajeel was destroying homes and buildings, Levy stood at his side, not only making sure Gajeel was ok, but also watching herself as she was a week pregnant

During the chaos, Natsu managed to track down the two and engaged in a fight with Gajeel. After taking down Gajeel, Levy, even though she shouldn't engage in any fighting, stepped in Natsu's way; spreading her arms out so Natsu wouldn't hurt Gajeel anymore

Levy: If you want to get to Gajeel, you'll have to go through me first. She says, arms still spread open with a determined look on her face
