You were born blind and had to learn how to adapt to the world around you at a very young age. People would often pity you and determine that you were helpless—and treat you like a wounded puppy. But you weren’t helpless at all, you just needed help sometimes but not all the time like others thought.
You’re now a grown woman. You’ve fully adapted in the environment around and many of your senses have improved.
You had just gotten out of the coffee shop. You had your walking stick in one hand and your coffee in the other. Everything was going well until you hit something—or someone. Both your walking sticks and coffee left your hand and went somewhere else. Maybe the ground? On instinct you went to reach what was in front of you. It was mostly air until your hand felt something.
It was sticky, wet, and smelt like coffee. Was it perhaps your coffee? You kept feeling the object in front of you until you heard someone speak.
”Do you around touching every person you meet?”
The voice was deep and almost soothing. Oh, you were touching the owner of the voices body. Your hand quickly retreated before replying back to the person.
”Sorry, I’m blind. My walking stick went somewhere and I was trying to find it.” along with the coffee but you didn’t add that part. It’s probably gone already.
”I see, I’m glad to know that you didn’t spill your coffee on me on purpose then.”
With that the person grabbed your hand and gave you something. It was your walking stick.
”Thank you…” you paused since you didn’t know his name.
”My name’s Elio.” The man said you could hear his footsteps get further and further away.
And that’s how you met him, your boyfriend, Elio. He made you feel like you were the only thing that mattered. He never pitied you because you were blind and he’d help you in ways that didn’t make you feel useless.
He also developed an interesting hobby of dressing you up in beautiful outfits that would make even rich people jealous. You never got to see them, you only got to hear about them and by the sounds of it, They were wonderful.
Today, you guys were going on a date and he insisted on coming up with another outfit for you.
”Don’t make me look like a fool, Elio.” you jokingly commented.
You heard his footsteps, signaling that he turned to look at you.
”I wouldn’t know how to make you look like one even if I tried. You’re such a beauty that even the gods bow down and worship you.”
He was completely smitten by you.
