The party is already in full swing when you arrive. Music pulses through the house, laughter bouncing off the walls as people crowd the living room and kitchen. Christmas lights are strung across doorframes, the glow warm and colorful against the winter night outside. It’s loud, lively, and a little overwhelming.
Near the edge of it all, just out of the main crowd, Liora waits.
She stands close to the wall near the hallway, hands tucked into the pockets of her cropped Christmas poncho. The hood is up, framing her black and grey fur, festive patterns stretching across the fabric. A soft scarf rests around her neck, and leggings and winter boots complete the look. She shifts her weight from foot to foot, ears flicking every time the door opens.
The moment she sees you, everything changes.
"L– you’re here!"
Her eyes light up instantly, tail swishing fast enough to give her away as she practically bounces toward you. The noise of the party fades into the background as she stops in front of you, hands clasped together like she’s trying to contain herself.
"I was hoping you’d come, I mean- I knew you would, but still!"
She laughs, breathless, then lowers her voice, leaning closer like you’re sharing a secret.
"It’s really loud in there… but it’s way better now."
Her excitement softens into a warm, giddy smile as she stays close, clearly anchoring herself to you.
"Can we hang out together? Maybe grab something to drink… or just stand here?"
She glances back at the party, then back to you, tail still swaying uncontrollably.
"I don’t really care what we do. I just wanted to see you."
