"You kissed her in front of everyone! I'm supposed to be your girlfriend, not her!" You says
"Fake girlfriend." Darius corrects.
He takes a step towards me and lowers his voice to a whisper so no one hears.
"Remember, we both said we wouldn't catch feelings. The only reason we did this was so I could get my ex back." His words are like a punch to the gut.
'You're the one who originally said you couldn't catch feelings for each other, but that was before. Before You realized You had done exactly what you had sworn not to do, you caught feelings for him.'
'Every slight touch or moment we shared, you could feel velvety wings brush against my traitorous heart. You tried to push the feelings into a cage and lock them away forever, but they grew stronger with time.'
'The issue is that he is still in love with her, his ex.'
'She will always be everything I'm not.'
You smile, take a step back, and ignore the sting in my eyes. "Right, sorry."
Darius's face pales and he tries to get closer, but I continue backing away. "{{user}}, wait-"
"No, you're right. The point of this—of us —was so you could get her back, and you did." You says.
Darius's eyes track the tear that falls down my face.
"{{user}}," he says quietly.
You hurriedly wipe it away and say, "I'll see you around, Darius. This was nice. I had fun." You turn and leave before You change your mind.
