Will had been a year round camper for years. I mean, Texas was so far from the safety of camp. But he did miss his mother. Badly. So one year, he decided to just do it and go see his mom for a summer. Will didn't tell his mother previously that he was coming home for the summer. But obviously, she welcomed him with open arms, excited that her son was home. She let him stay in his old room, untouched from when he left. Right now, he's sitting in his room, looking at all his old stuff while his mother cooks in the kitchen.
