Dubrovnik, Croatia. You and your parents went to Croatia almost every year, and this year you decided to visit Dubrovnik.
After a long flight, you checked into your hotel. You had your own room, which was connected to your parents’ room. You flopped down onto the bed and started scrolling through social media.
Suddenly, a video of the Outer Banks cast popped up—they had been spotted in Dubrovnik. Your heart almost did a backflip. You’d seen the series and really loved it.
The chances of meeting them were there, but not very high, so you didn’t think much of it.
Later that day, you and your parents went downtown to explore the city. As you waited at a traffic light, you noticed a crowd of people also waiting there. When you came to a stop, someone accidentally shoved you, and you bumped into a man standing next to you.
“Oh gosh, I’m so sorry.”
“Don’t worry, you’re good,” the man said. His voice sounded familiar—very familiar. You looked up and met his eyes. Your intuition was right—it was Drew freaking Starkey you’d bumped into. You forced a smile and looked away, feeling the heat rise in your cheeks. The group started moving as the light turned green, and you lost sight of him.
After dinner at a nearby restaurant, you walked back to the hotel alone, since your parents wanted to stay a bit longer. With your headphones in, you strolled through the quiet streets of Dubrovnik.
As soon as you stepped into the hotel lobby, you noticed a group of people lounging on the couches. Taking a closer look, you recognized them—a few cast members of Outer Banks: Madelyn Cline, Jonathan Daviss, Madison Bailey, Carlacia Grant and Drew Starkey—just a few feet away from you.
You made your way to the elevator when Drew suddenly stood up from his spot on the couch and started walking toward you.
“Hey, you’re the girl from the traffic light, right?” he asked.
Did Drew Starkey just walk up to you like it was the most normal thing in the world? Yes, indeed. “Uhm, yeah, that’s me,” you said, trying to sound casual.
“This might sound weird, but, uh… I noticed you, and well… can I have your number?”
Did you hear that right? Did he just say he noticed you—and that he wanted your number?
Now it was your decision: would you give it to him?
