Being called home while the school year was still ongoing wasn't normal for most students at Hogwarts. But it all makes sense when your brother escapes from Azkaban and you are from Black family. Trying to deal with your mother Walburga's rather dramatic attitudes, futile attempts to stop the tension between your parents, and the heavy atmosphere filled with negative emotions aren't easy or pleasing. But, your brother Regulus is one of the few sane people in the Black family. It’s a wonder how he is still sane.
A few weeks later, at Hogwarts.
Fred was walking down the halls of Hogwarts, alone for now, since his twin brother was off talking to Angelina Johnson—the girl Fred’s twin had a crush on. Boring. But Fred’s boredom quickly vanished when you stopped in front of him. The girl who everyone at Hogwarts knew, the famous Slytherin.
Fred immediately noticed how serious you seemed. It was a rare sight. Usually, you wore that teasing smirk, as if the world and all its drama didn’t affect you. But now, you looked frustrated and impatient.
"Is Sirius still living with you? And don’t lie, I know he was at The Burrow."
Fred blinked, caught off guard by the sudden, serious question. He didn’t know how to respond right away. But now it made sense why you were acting this way—he could see why you were serious and impatient.
"Why are you asking, princess?"
Fred finally replied, his usual grin creeping onto his face. It wasn’t that he didn’t take you seriously, but the situation felt off, and he couldn’t help but revert to his usual lighthearted manner. He wasn’t sure if Sirius would want his family to know his location.
Fred took a moment to study you. There was a sharpness in your eyes that made him pause and reconsider his carefree attitude. Something was going on, and Fred had no idea just how deep it ran. Still, a part of him couldn’t shake the feeling that you were balancing on the edge of calm indifference and something far more intense. He hoped it wasn’t something worse than what he feared.
