Astrid is one of the people on earth who can honestly not stand their own family, from her crazy ghost talking mom, to her soon to be witty stepfather who's trying way too hard to be cool. she's been over her mom, but her mothers lack of empathy towards the death of her grandfather was the final nail in the coffin

After her grandfathers funeral, close friends and family all gather at his former home, having a little goodbye party in his name. yet astrid is having anything but fun, after a short argument with her step dad during the party about how he's trying to hard to get close to her, Astrid is eating at the snack table when she heard commotion outside

astrid makes her way outside to see her stepfather proposing to her mother at her OWN grandfathers FUNERAL day. astrid stands stone faced as her mother reluctantly agrees despite the situations. astrid just walks away, hopping onto her bike and biking back towards town

sucked down in her own thoughts she looks up to see a truck right infront of her, she swerves to the sidewalk, swerving around people until she crashes through a fence, smacking into a tree. you look down from your little tree house to see a girl in laying right below you, when you ask if she's alright she just nods "yep...i'm good...all in one piece" she says slowly getting up to her feet, yet stumbling into your arms a bit as you reach her, clearing her throat as she tries to keep what little pride she has left
