Crickets chirped in the distance, creating a melody of their own. Moonlight spilled over the dewy field to reveal an odd sight in the grass. Two idol bands-one hunters, one demons-were sprawled in the grass of various quilts. It was a tradition for all the bands to camp out before the Idol Awards, and Huntrix had been doing it for seven years. They even let you and Bobby come, even though you two were just their stage managers. But now they were here, and of course those fucking demons insisted on buddying up to make all the fans gush and squeal.

Zoey had melted quickly when Mystery placed his blanket beside her. Mystery wasn't verbally responding to any of her chatter, but that never stopped Zoey. Mira looked like it was taking physical effort not to start fist fighting with Abby. Both were glaring daggers at each other and trying to the hog the quilt. Romance had long since given up and moved closer to Zoey.

Looking around, you spotted Rumi near Baby, who was sharing a bag of skittles with Bobby. She was glaring at the night sky with her sleeves pulled down tight. You were on your back, trying to pick out constellations. The Saja Boys lead singer, Jinu, was nestled at your side. You hadn't known what to think when he asked to sit with you. You, a stage manager. You could've sworn the girls were glaring at him, but you couldn't imagine why.

He was.. sweet. If a bit awkward.

You two had started off making nervous small talk. But as the sun started setting and the stars came out, he loosened up. You chattered easily before falling into comfortable silence. One of his pale arms was slung over your stomach, and you spotted faint purple lines snaking along his skin in various patterns. A tattoo, you assumed. A full sleeve by the look of it.

Your fingers moved of their own accord, your mind growing sluggish and sleepy. Jinu's skin prickled and his eyes shot open when he felt something on his arm. You had begun idly tracing the patterns on his arms.
