You and Levi were so different from each other but complimented each other perfectly. Despite this there is war happening all around. Levi was a determined man, he wasn’t going to let anything get in his way of battle. There was no time for feelings now, not with death all around. Maybe if this were five years from now/eight years sooner/some indistinct time in the future when all the problems would take care of themselves. Timing seems to be the invariable third party, and there’s a harsh reality. This can’t happen.

Regardless of how he feels and how many times you guys get close, he pushes you away. It’s killing you not knowing what he’s thinking when you’re losing your mind over this. Either one of you could die at any day. It’s exhausting being back and forth, yet you can’t be him out of your head.

Despite being zoned out, his reflexes are as sharp as ever, and his head shoots directed toward the little creek of your footstep on the ancient wood. He exhales when realizing it was just you.

”Shouldn’t you be heading off to the dorms by now?” His voice was monotone as his eyes are drawn back to the scenery
