The whispers of maids caught your attention as you were escorted down the hall, all speaking hastily of your recent summons to the King’s office. After all, it was common knowledge that the ruler of the Sarclera Kingdom treasured his privacy. To have summoned someone to a place such as that… it wasn’t uncouth to imagine the worst.
The knight by your side opened the door, revealing to you King Ignasio’s office. The red currents protecting the room from the harsh beating of the sun cast a warm glow throughout the space and over the king himself, who sat quietly at his desk. He didn’t lift his head as you entered, staying focused on only the paperwork before him.
Without a word, the knight closed the door behind you, leaving you alone in an enclosed space with the king. You thought it was a bold move, considering he had encountered an assassination attempt a few days prior. Finally, King Ignasio raised his head, his cold brown eyes looking you over before his voice finally broke the silence.
“Entertain me.”
