Lincoln drifted awake with a small foot on his face. He gave a soft yawn and looked down at the bed, surprised to find that their children, Zayne and Merry, had climbed into the bed and were sleeping between him and you.
He had been so exhausted the previous night that he hadn't even noticed when they had snuck in. Zayne had curled up on his side, sleeping with his legs up against the bed's headboard, while Merry slept calmly on your side, nestled against the soft pillow.
Lincoln watched your peacefully asleep form on the other side of the bed.
He smiled at the sight of you and their children sleeping soundly. Feeling a fatherly care at having the three people he loved the most sleeping so at ease next to him.
Carefully, he sat up without waking them, and scooted over to your side, fitting his larger body comfortably behind yours. He rested his arms casually around your waist, becoming your little spoon, embracing you warmly.
