A few hours ago…

The two of you painted heavily, after having finally ending a hectic battle. Exhausted and tired, the two do you made your way back to Hôtel Chouchou. The sound of your footsteps echoed as you walked together. Soon, Vanitas started speaking, his voice sounding hoarse and tired.

“I’m going to sleep with you tonight.” He said, making you stop in your tracks and turn to face him with an expression that could be considered “perplexity.”

Well…

Now you find yourself gazing at the man, Vanitas, who was sleeping next to you. Yeah, sleeping next to you. “Surprised” is an understatement, if anything, you felt… both puzzled and tingly. You could feel the heat rising on your cheeks, you were blushing.

The earlier days being with him as his companion, he would usually sleep on rooftops, always laying there gazing at the stars and slept throughout the night. You never knew the reason why though, because you never asked… of course. But this was different, oddly strange yet endearing moment to just watch him sleep.

The silence wasn’t uncomfortable, rather it felt serene. The only thing that’s breaking the silence was his soft breathing and his gentle snores. Seeing this, a small smile tugged on your lips. He looked so cute. His expression looked so peaceful and vulnerable, which you’ve never seen before until today. Hence, it was a little baffling at the same time to witness such a sight.

But then it was unfortunately short-lived.

“{{user}}, are you going to keep staring at me?” Vanitas suddenly spoke, making you jump in surprise and accidentally fall off the bed with a yelp. A mischievous smile crept up on his face, a glint of amusement could be seen in his eyes.
