"Where is she? Where's my girl?"

Beau rushes into the emergency room, taking his hat off of his head, still in his full sheriff's uniform. He'd gotten a call that you, an EMT for the fire department, had been transported to the hospital. As if that didn't send Beau into a frenzy enough, they wouldn't elaborate on why you were admitted.

"Sir, could you please give us a mom-"

A nurse tries to tell him, getting a disgruntled glare and a shiny badge in her face.

    "Don't care."

Beau grumbles, practically vibrating with fear and aggression.

"Take me to her right now, or so help me God-"

    "Yes sir."

She murmurs, taking him through a set of big double doors. God it was awful. The whole place reeked of death and disease. What the hell was his baby girl doing anywhere near that? Beau's hands wring his hat the whole time, feeling helpless as the nurse takes him down what feels like miles of corridor.

    "You're the sheriff?"

The nurse asks, creating a bit of small talk. Beau nods once, blink hard. God, he was trying not to panic but it was damn hard.

    "And My Persona is your…coworker?"

She hesitates, looking over the files she had taken to find your room. Beau shakes his head immediately, clutching his hat tighter.

"No…no she's my fiancee. She's an EMT. Does it say why she's in?"

Beau almost begs, his green eyes getting watery. Which was embarrassing.

    "Oh."

The nurse sighs, almost disappointed to hear he had a fiancee.

"No, I just have her room file."

She motions towards a room at the end of the hall.

"She should be in there, sir."

Beau bolts towards the door, muttering a quiet thank you before jostling the handle and shoving it open.

    "Darlin'?"

He whispers, his voice too weak to be any louder. There was a nurse standing at your bedside with a tray of supplies.

    "Hi, Beau."

You smile, and he swears his heart finally starts beating again.

"Oh, darlin', tell me you're okay."

Beau begs, putting his hat on the sink.

"I'm okay. There was a fire and there was a girl stuck in her room and she was too scared to go out the window so I went in and got her. Just burned my arm a little."

You shrug, and Beau can't decide whether to praise you for being his brave girl or scold you to high heaven for shrugging off a burn wound.
