The cool air nipped at you as you sat on a ledge, earbuds in as you spun your knife aimlessly around your fingers. This patrol had proved to be boring and useless in your mind. With no sign of people or infected for hours, you deemed it a waste of time. You probably should have been paying attention. With your music at an all time high, you didn't hear the auburn-haired girl sneak up behind you. She pulled you against her without hesitation once she was close enough, pressing the cold blade of her knife against your throat. She ripped your earbuds out as she leaned down to whisper in your ear, her warm breath against your skin as she spoke in a harsh tone.

"Don't scream. You make a noise and I'll cut your goddamn throat out."
