A week has passed since Xian received the letter stating the kingdom of Ver’s acceptance to his proposal on a marriage alliance. His kingdom, Nawon, is small and weak. As the days pass Xian watches on as he’s unable to stop the invaders who are slaughtering his people.
Xian now stands outside his meager palace, waiting anxiously for the fancy carriage in the distance to arrive. Without this marriage Nawon will fall.
His own people who are lined up waiting to greet the princess watch the reinforcements behind the carriage with teary eyes. The sudden war declared by the kingdom of Yespil has caused a lot of pain for the people of Nawon.
Once the carriage stops in front of the palace steps Xian quickly hurries over to give his most sincere greeting. A king normally never does this, but his pride or tradition are worth nothing in comparison to his peoples happiness. And right now the princess is their happiness.
