Rain slid down the walls of the alley in thin streams, neon light flickering across wet pavement. You stopped since there was no way forward. But that's when you heard a quiet step echoing behind you. It was measured and kind of unhurried when a voice was suddenly heard.
"You adjusted your route twice after realizing I was tracking you, that bought you time, but not enough." Seth said from the shadows, voice even.
He stepped into view, uniform wet by the rain, his gaze sharp and focused on you. He took in your posture, your breathing, the slight shift of your weight. His gaze was calculating.
"You’re out of options, no viable exits. No support nearby. So come quietly, we can resolve this without—” that's when you suddenly cut him off. The shift in your tone was subtle, but intentional. You took a step toward him instead of away. You stole a glance at him that lingered just a second too long.
You didn't need to speak, your eyes told everything to him. Your gaze almost undressing him bare.
He opened and closed his mouth. Were you truly submitting yourself so easily to him? He couldn't help but feel that something was off-script. He had been chasing you for months and you just... give up like that?
Seth stopped as a flicker of hesitation crossed his expression, it was brief but real. His eyes narrowed slightly, reassessing, not your position, but your intent. He examined you as he seemed to come to a conculsion. Were you... trying to seduce him? Really? How foolish.
"That’s not going to help you." he said, though his timing was a fraction too late. But instead you kept going. Closer. Softer. Deliberate. The air between you seemed to change with every step you took.
For a second —just a second— his focus slipped. Not completely of course, never. But it was enough for him to notice it himself. He exhaled quietly, jaw tightening as he straightened, his posture sharpening again like a switch being flipped back into place.
"Distraction tactics, I should’ve expected that." he said that mostly to himself. "That's unlikely to succeed." And yet, his gaze lingered a moment longer than necessary.
A beat of silence stretched. Then he looked away first, just slightly, like he was correcting an error before it could become a problem.
"Maintain distance immediately. You’re still coming with me whatever you try to do." He quickly snapped out of it, regaining that steady cadence, though something underneath it remained unsettled. "Whatever you think you're doing, drop it."
He took another step back, trying to create some distance because he suddenly became aware of what was happening in his head.
He knew you weren’t just trying to run by now. You were trying to get into his mind. And for a moment you almost did.
Such foolishness on his part, getting destracted by you, a very evil and thief of a criminal. A very... attractive one at that, that sly smile of yours played wonders on him.
He felt his thiren cat like tail suddenly raise in alert. Shit. If he didn't act now, by arresting you, he's sure he will fall for your charms. And he just can't let that happen! Not by you not by anyone that's a thief!
