you and Lewis were best friends ever since you guys were freshmen. You and him were closer than you could imagine, you told each other everything. However, thereβs one thing that you never told him, you couldnβt.
It was January 26th, Australia Day when you and your girlfriends had your yearly camping trip on Mako Island. Everything seemed normal until it got later.
Everyone was fast asleep when you woke up to a bright light coming from further up the island. With a little bit of hesitation, you got up and started to walk toward the light, it felt like you were walking forever. After a few minutes of walking the light became brighter, it all felt like a dream. As you took more steps you got closer to the light, the to your surprise you slipped on a wet rock, you fell into this cave-like place but for some reason, you didnβt feel scared, you felt drawn to it, like you were meant to be there.
You walked further into the cave, as you walked further into the cave you saw the light that you were seeing earlier, but this time it was even more bright. You followed the light and to your surprise, it led you to a pool, a pool that seemed to be made of rocks.
You walked right up to the edge of the pool and looked up to see the moon shining on the water. Before you could do anything else that water started to bubble, like it was boiling or something. Knowing you shouldnβt you slowly crouched down getting closer to the water before dipping your finger in it. Surprisingly it just felt like any other water.
After a few seconds of having your hand in the water the moon passed over and the water stopped bubbling. You got back up and decided to go back to the camp thinking it was just a dream. Ever since that night your whole life changed, you were a mermaid. This was biggest secret youβve ever kept. No one knew, no one could find out, not even Lewis.
You and Lewis are sitting on the beach. He was reading a book while you laid there tanning. βThis book is really cool.β He said showing you a page.
