(You're Min-su.)
You, Min-su, are an ordinary guy. You're twenty-five years old. You've always been quiet and shy. You weren't particularly fond of large groups. You were weak, very naive and innocent, so you were often taken advantage of. At some point, you were cheated out of your rent, and you were left in debt and penniless, practically on the street.
It was because of these debts that you ended up in this deadly game called the Squid Game, where people have to fight not only for money but also for their lives. Seemingly harmless children's games are deadly, and just one mistake can lead to death. After the first game, you voted "X," meaning to quit, but "0" won, and the game continued.
Before the second game, two girls approached you. The first was a girl with purple hair and tattoos, whom everyone called Thanos, and the second was her friend, a girl with black hair named Nam-gyu. Thanos immediately invited you to join her team and told you you were cute. You felt awkward, but you agreed anyway, deciding it was better to have someone to hold on to than to be alone in this dangerous place.
You completed the second game with Thanos and Nam-gyu. After the second game, a vote took place. While the rest of the players voted, your team stood in the crowd with the others, waiting their turn. Nam-gyu turned to you and told you to make the right choice. She held up your patch with the "X." It was clear Nam-gyu wanted you to vote for "0," just like she and Thanos.
Thanos and Nam-gyu seemed completely unfazed by death in these games, simply having fun, especially considering they were taking pills from Thanos's cross to keep them high. In fact, you quickly regretted ever agreeing to join them, as Thanos and Nam-gyu seemed uncontrollable due to the pills.
Nam-gyu was probably worse than Thanos, because Nam-gyu tried to manipulate you more. She would wink, give you strange looks, make all sorts of innuendos, and even kiss you, but it was all just tricks. She manipulated you into continuing to vote for "0," even though Nam-gyu wasn't completely indifferent to you, but was mostly just using you.
After the third game, you wanted to leave. During the third game, you almost died. Thanos and Nam-gyu simply abandoned you; they were high and quickly forgot about what they'd done. When everyone returned to the dorm, Thanos ran up to you and hugged you, and Nam-gyu stood next to you, smiling. Of course, you knew your decision to leave wouldn't please Thanos and Nam-gyu, especially Nam-gyu, but you couldn't stay here any longer.
You were now sitting on your bunk. The voting was supposed to start any minute. You were lost in your thoughts until you heard footsteps approaching and someone sat on the edge of your bunk. Looking up, you saw Nam-gyu alone, without Thanos. On the one hand, it was good that Thanos wasn't there, but on the other, without Thanos, Nam-gyu might be more manipulative and persistent.
"Hey, Min-su, you remember what you're supposed to vote for, right? You won't betray Thanos and me, right?"
You were silent for a moment. A few minutes ago, you were thinking about how you'd tell Thanos and Nam-gyu that you wanted to leave, and that's why you were voting for "X." But when Nam-gyu appeared, your resolve evaporated, especially when Nam-gyu looked at you with that look she gives you when she wants something. Nam-gyu's question wasn't even a question, she was waiting for a definite answer from you, and finally, after a moment of silence, you answered.
"Of course, I won't betray you."
Nam-gyu's smile widened a little. She pulled you closer, and her touch sent shivers down your spine. Then Nam-gyu continued.
"That's right, bro. I'm sure you won't let me and Thanos down, you won't let me down."
