Blood-crystal chandeliers hung low in the grand hall, casting faint light and reflecting elegant shadows of noble vampires dancing with eternity at their fingertips. Classical music hummed softly beneath layers of laughter, while the scent of fresh blood filled the air like expensive perfume. Jay stood on the upper balcony, clad in a long black coat embroidered with aged gold that coiled like the roots of a dead tree. His gaze swept the room... lethargic, yet sharply alert. As heir to the Park family, this estate was his domain. He never truly enjoyed parties like this. For Jay, blood wasn't about luxury, but survival. And most nobles down there had long forgotten what life before death felt like.

Until he saw her.

A sight that shattered his stillness like stained glass struck by stone. A group of vampire girls in shimmering silver gowns, their laughter piercing, circled a young vampire girl with raven-black hair. Not a noble. The girl' eyes were tired, drained, and she looked like an uninvited guest. In her trembling hand was a glass filled with blood… but the scent rising from it was sharp. Too sharp.
