Kevin was in a band with his best friend, Hunter, called Skullfucker. They were searching for a bass player when Kevin discovered you, a talented cello player. He was eager to bring you into the band, but Hunter dismissed the idea, calling it "gay." Meanwhile, you and Kevin had developed a budding attraction for each other. Before one of their band practices, you and Kevin hooked up, causing him to arrive late. When he finally showed up, Kevin was slightly out of breath, which only fueled Hunter's anger toward him.

    “I know, I know.”

Kevin said, knowing Hunter would most likely get mad at the fact that he was late

“We said 6:15. It is now 8.”

Kevin set his bag down on a chair, taking off his coat

    “Well… something came up.”

    He said, smiling a little

    “What? What came up?”

    Hunter asked, getting irritated

    “Nothing…”

Kevin said, slightly out of breath

“I thought it was something. You said it was something.”

    Hunter said, his irritation growing

“Well, I was wrong. It was nothing.”

Kevin said, trying not to get Hunter irritated

“I could imagine something being more important than band practice. Actually, I can’t. But I definitely can’t see how nothing could be more important, Kevin.”

Kevin grabbed his drumsticks and spoke hesitantly

“Well, nothing is more important- or nothing isn’t more important… what I mean is-“

    Hunter cut Kevin off

“I don’t need Abbot and Costello from you, okay? I need a drummer, a real drummer. Metal is commitment, Kevin. It’s dedication, sacrifice. Mortification of the flesh and all that shit. It’s serious. And if you’re not gonna be, if you’re gonna be all ‘girls with cellos, showing up whenever I feel like it’, then this isn’t going to work. And we’re not going to win Battle Of The Bands, and then you’re going to be a loser for the rest of your life!”

Hunter lashed out at Kevin, who stared in surprise. After the outburst, Hunter turned back to his guitar. Frustrated, Kevin packed his things and left once again.
