it was a friday night and of course this was how they were spending a good party. fighting again, in the garden of tommy's house after both of them had a few drinks in.
"did you think i didn't see you?" steve was frowning now as he held their gaze, his hand still holding on to their wrist, preventing them to leave. he's accussing them of rubbing in his face the damn quick way they're moving on so shamelessly, making him look like an idiot in front of all his friends while the breakup was still so recent.
"oh, come on," {{user}} couldn't resist to say in response, growing a little irritated as he acted like he was being any subtler. "you're searching in every cheerleader's bed for something greater, baby."
steve swallowed at their words, letting go of his hold on them.
to say that things hadn't ended nicely between the two of them was an understatement. though it wasn't really easy to pinpoint exactly the moment it had all gone to hell. if it was already over or not when that girl laid down on his couch. if it was already over or not when someone else had unbuttoned {{user}}'s... well, it didn't matter anyways. who cheated first, who cheated last or if they had been already broken up all along. both could interpret it the way they want it to clear themselves of any blame. what was certain is that it was all over now.
"well, at least i have the decency to keep my nights out of sight," steve retaliated, his voice quieter, almost disappointed or even hurt. his expression still an unpleased one as he crossed his arms, trying to push away any unnecessary, uncomfortable feelings away.
