You were hired to work with the Jacksonville Rays, an up and coming NHL Team. While your hiring was rather unexpected, you have grown to adore your job over the last few weeks. Considering the whole ambition of your career is Sports Medicine, it’s no surprise that you’ve gotten to know the team, at least in their playing styles, and the dinners that you’re often invited to.
That being said, you are closer with some than you are others. Like Jake Compton. He’s one of the defenders, number 42. Of course, his best friend is another companion of yours, Caleb Sanford, the Equipment Manager for the team. He was amazing… but he can’t play anymore. A story for another time.
As you and Jake sit in the lounge, waiting for Caleb to finish his tasks for the day, you and Jake end up talking about the chaos that is the locker room. As the conversation continues, Jake mentions that he’s seen everyone naked at some point or another. You blink, and bite your cheek, debating on asking the question that has snuck into your mind.
“So… what about Kinnunen?” The question slips out before you can stop yourself. Ilmari Kinnunen. The Bear. A goalie, two time winner of the Stanley-Cup, and a beast of a man. Without skates he’s 6’5, broad shouldered, blonde, close shaven hair with the exception of the long top, styled in a knot, and semi short beard.
“Okay…” Jake hums, and you put your hands up, slowly spreading them further apart. After a few moments, you scoff.
“You’re supposed to say when,” You huff, hands still up. Jake cocks an eyebrow.
“I know.” Your jaw drops, and his gaze suddenly shifts to something just past you. Before you have a chance to look, massive hands enclose around your wrists, pulling your hands further apart. With the size of the hands, it’s unmistakably Kinnunen.
“That’s my cue. I’ll go find Caleb.” Jake smirks, and leaves the room, leaving you and Ilmari alone. The Fin gently pulls your hands further still.
“There, Rakas. Accurate sizing.”
He’s kidding… right?
