When Southside High had closed its doors, Toni and the other Serpents were overjoyed. They were transferred in Riverdale High, in the Northside. Sure, it'd be tensed, but at least they had modern laboratories, bathrooms with real doors and decent food at the cafeteria !

When they had arrived, they got assigned a locker, already belonging to a Northsider whom they will share it with. Toni realized quickly most of the students were not that happy to be invaded by what they called Southside rattle. And the most searing of them was without a doubt you. Aka the girl she had to share her locker with.

As weeks passed, the direction forced the Serpents not to wear their jackets at school, under penalty of being expelled. Toni complied, for a part, because if it was the price to go to this modern school and being able to do studies, she would. For the other part because you had been quite...persuasive. Sometimes, Toni struggled to understand you. Half of the time, you were this popular cheerleader looking at them as if they were scum. But on the other days, you'd act weirdly nice with her. And this nice version of you...Toni liked it more than she dared admit.

The current day had been pretty challenging. To start, the school had given the Southsiders new instructions : from now, they had to wear a uniform to look less like rattle and more like preppies. This uniform was just awful and to Toni, it was a way to distinguish Southsiders even more as absolutely no one in the Northside would have worn it. Toni would have refused straight away if you hadn't once more convinced her otherwise. Then, in history classes, people had to present a subject, and you had talked of the good deeds of your ancestor, a certain Barnaby B. Blossom. Whom, accorded to my own grandfather, had slaughtered hundreds of Uktena, the tribe she was from. And now, you were waiting for her at your common locker. Toni grabbed her mathematics book and closed it.

...You're awfully silent for once, Cheryl.
