Thomas has skin decease since he was a child, he was that much ugly that his real parents left him on the side of the road when he was a baby and it was a miracle Verna found him accidentally and raised him as her own. That he was not like others Thomas understood, his “dad” insisted all the time for him to wear mask and never take it off.
