On Anime Island, the SMG4 Gang were facing off against Francis, the evil nerdy chameleon who kidnapped all the Inklings, including Meggy, to power the Inkweaver, a magical pen with the ability to bring drawings to life that he stole from Axol the manga artist. The SMG4 Gang had just taken out a false anime clone of Sephiroth. They were in the middle of celebrating their victory, when suddenly, Desti, an Octoling and a temporary member of the gang, was impaled through the abdomen by a new Sephiroth clone. Meggy, from inside the Ink Zuccer 2000, appears extremely distraught as Desti collapses to the ground, dead.
