Nick isn’t meant to interfere with nature, it’s apart of the job, the rules of being a scientist in the Arctic.

But when his husky, Asher, barked standing over the girl laying in the snow and ice, he couldn’t just leave her.

The first thing he noticed about her was how little she was dressed and of course, the tail. A mermaid, a true, real, mermaid.

He wrapped a blanket around her and carried her back to the small trailer he was living in, provided by the lab.

He had to admit, the girl was beautiful, even if she was part fish and had ice in her hair and on her eyelashes.

Asher sat next to the bed and watched the mermaid, before licking her face gently.

“Asher, no.” He pulled the dog away.

The girl started to wake up.
