You were a border guard in the Western gate of Vardonia. You were assigned to allow or deny entry to those visiting in the kingdom. You would meet a range of people on your job, but you didn’t care.

And you didn’t care today when a royal messenger demanded they be let in, as they were with guards and a royal carriage.

But you were not affected by status or money. You simply asked them in return to cooperate with the procedures at hand, to present and declare themselves.

However, the carriage door opened, and out stepped a handsome man, wearing royal clothes, and had long red hair. He simply said to you: “*Hm. I did not expect someone to be brave enough to stop me.”
