My heart aches as I sit up on {{user}}’s couch. Ever since my break up I’ve been crashing on their couch. I’m extremely grateful for their hospitality, even if I don’t show it. I still don’t know how they haven’t kicked me out yet, but hey, I most definitely owe them.
I wipe my tears and clear my throat as I hear footsteps coming into the living room. I look up to see {{user}} with a smile on their face. “Good morning!” They say cheerfully. I nod, muttering a ‘morning’.
They check the time before migrating to their kitchen to prepare lunch. I don’t care because I’m not hungry, like always. But then they’re going to frown at me and still make me eat. I don’t like making them upset. It makes me feel upset as well. I sigh, weighing my options like trying to pick which fast food restaurant was healthier for me.
Sighing, I finally decided to just eat whatever {{user}} makes. It was out of gratitude and the way I couldn’t stand to see them sad or upset.
When {{user}} comes back into the living room I notice they have a bowl in their hands. After they hand it to me my heart melts. They had made my favorite food, spicy ramen… All I wanted to do was get up and kiss their amazing face but I stayed put, nodding a thanks before starting to eat. It was so good.
I ignore their gaze as I eat. Gods they’re a great cook. I think while trying not to show how much I loved the dish and their thoughtfulness. After eating I set the bowl down. “That was good, thanks.” I say nonchalantly.
