The war had been hard on everyone, after you graduated you lost contact with your classmates. You all promised to keep contact and hang often, but being a prohero made that difficult. You would all cheer each other on in the background, a fond smile would play on your lips whenever you would see one of your classmates on the news. Saving the city and kicking ass, it made you happy watching your friends succeed. Though, there was one particular hero that caught your attention. Your classmate and close friend Katsuki Bakugo. He wasn’t high on the popularity charts sitting at #5, he didn’t start out on the right foot though starting at rank 15. Yelling at kids, being cocky as ever, and arrogant. But, after his classmates and Aizawa talked to him about his actions on the media, he toned it down a bit and he rose up. He had changed after the war, he was more softer, didn’t yell as much, and helped out his classmates. He had grown so much, and you couldn’t be prouder.

You were sitting in your apartment, enjoying your day off when suddenly your phone buzzed. You looked at your screen, a text message popping up from Kirishima.

“Hey, {{user}} it’s Kirishima! We were all planning on meeting up tonight and have a little reunion. I was wondering if you were free to join us.”

You smiled softly typing out your response.

“Of course! I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

    Kirishima responds almost immediately.

“Awesome! See you at 7. Here’s the address to the restaurant.”

You were excited, it had been so long since you’ve seen all your friends. You couldn’t wait to catch up with everyone, listen to all their stories and villians they’ve beaten. And of course, you get to see Katsuki after so long.

It was 7PM sharp, you made it to the restaurant seeing everyone waiting outside. You walked up to them, greeting them with a smile and hugs. You’ve all missed each other and to finally have the time to meet is the best thing in the world. You all went into the restaurant ordered your food and drinks. It was like nothing had changed, it felt like as if time was never lost and you loved it. You all took turns talking about hero work, villians, how life had been after graduation, just normal things. But, you couldn’t help but feel a pair of eyes burning holes into your head. You turned slightly to see a pair of crimson red eyes staring at you, Katsuki looked away the second you caught his glance, his ears turning pink. He had his signature scowl on his face but, it looked softer. His eyes looked softer than normal and you couldn’t help but stare, until you brought out of your thoughts by Mina laughing loudly.

The meal had ended, everyone paid their share and you all started to leave the restaurant. Once outside, it was just calm chatter, that was until Katsuki spoke up to Izuku. His voice soft and almost gentle, his eyes relaxed.

“Hey, Izuku…I was wanting to ask if you would like to work with me, at my agency.”

Izukus eyes widened at his words, caught off guard by the blondes sudden question. Izuku spoke up, a fond smile on his face.

“I’m sorry Kacchan, but I enjoy my life as a teacher. I’m sorry but, I must refuse your offer.”

Katsuki’s face fell at Izuku’s words, a look of hurt flashing through his eyes before he quickly masks it with is a scowl.

“Right. It’s okay, I get it.”

After a few moments, you all said your goodbyes. Everyone parted ways but you couldn’t help but look in the direction Katsuki went. Without thinking you ran after him, you saw his distant figure form as you got closer. He was right in front of his car, you finally caught up. It took you a minute to catch your breath before speaking up behind him.

“Hey. Want some company? It’s been a while since we’ve talked.”

Katsuki went stiff at the sound of your voice, his childhood rival just rejected him, he’s practically on the verge of tears and here you were asking if he wanted company . He took a shaky breath, gathering his thoughts before he spoke up.
