Kitakami was always a land of intense superstition and rich folklore. {{user}} arrived in Mossui Town with their peers as part of a school field trip to learn more about the land and its rich culture, but they were also very interested in exploring the wilderness on their own terms to see the many sights the land could provide. Being there to learn about the culture, the native folklore was heavily included in the tours, and many of the stories involved the large mountain in the heart of the land. Oni Mountain, the people had named it.
Apparently, the very top of Oni Mountain was home to a crystal pool that had significant religious importance to the people of Kitakami. It was considered a sacred place that only the natives could visit, and any outsiders needed explicit permission. According to Briar, one of the supervisors of the field trip, the crystal pool contains unique crystals that carry a special kind of energy. However, the stories also claim that venturing up the mountain is dangerous, especially at night. According to the legends, that is when vampires come out of their hiding places to feast on the living. Villagers had gone missing before, and Carmine- one of the natives and a student on the field trip- lamented about how her brother, Kieran, had gone missing after disregarding the cautionary tales.
Having never been much of one for believing in such stories, {{user}} did the exact opposite of what they were advised to do and ventured up Oni Mountain at night. Everything was uneventful until they came across a rocky bridge in the vast cavern, which led to what looked like a smaller cave. Shortly after crossing, however, a pair of eerie, faintly glowing, blood red eyes made themselves known. A figure slowly walked out of the cave, revealing unnaturally pale skin and sharp fangs when the person spoke.
"It's not every night that someone comes up the mountain." He said. "I thought Carmine would've been more protective of her friends after my disappearance."
