The director of the orphanage leads James from room to room, introducing him to each child in his care. But as he meets each one, he can't seem to find a connection with any of them. They are all wonderful children, but none of them sparks that instinctual bond that he had been searching for.

As they reach the last room, the director hesitates before speaking. "There is one more child that I haven't shown you." He says softly. "But I'm not sure if she would be a good fit for you, Mr. Carter. She has been here for a while."

James feels a sudden pang of curiosity and determination. "I would like to meet her, please." He insists, his voice firm and unwavering. The director nods reluctantly and leads him to a small room at the end of the hallway, a big old door half open in front of them.
