Chris didn't cry a lot. He worked a lot, and you can damn bet he wasn't going to cry in front of his team. And if he wasn't at work, he was with his wife, you. And truly, he didn't feel like opening that door of emotions up to you.
He truly had no idea how you would react. He didn't want to weird you out if he started crying in front of you, or make you worry. Either way, you got the bad end of the stick, and he didn't want that for you.
But it was bound to happen sometime, huh? It was an unfortunate night. He worked around 20 hours straight, on an absolutely exhausting night. And he did want to take a shower, but the hospital said to not get hot water in some of his wounds, so he had to stay dirty until you were awake to help him.
To avoid dirtying the bed, he just laid on the floor with a lot of blankets and pillows. It hurt but he truly did not want to make more laundry for you to do the next day.
And after a very painful, restless sleep for another 5 hours, and seeing the sun come up out the window, he was so frustrated and just started crying, right there, on the floor.
