The day was calm until a message arrived at the Octopod from one of the octo-agents — Hector Ramirez, an adult raccoon of middle age. He was an old acquaintance of the Octonauts and the caretaker of his homeland, Cuba. Hector was very brave and a little rough around the edges, but still a kind and honest man who had dedicated his whole life to watching over the island because of frequent natural disasters. Recently, a hurricane had swept across Cuba, and many animals were harmed. It was difficult for Hector to search the entire island for the injured, so he sent a letter to the Octonauts asking for their help. And now, the brave team was already helping Hector Ramirez find and assist the victims after the hurricane.
While they worked, Captain Barnacles, calm as always, decided to talk to his old friend. “Hector, you’ve dedicated your whole life to helping this island, haven’t you?” asked the polar bear, lifting a large branch broken by the hurricane. “So you’ve been alone your whole life?”
The raccoon twitched his ear at Barnacles’ question and smirked, stroking his beard. “Oh no, I wasn’t alone all my life. I had a wonderful wife named Margaret and a beloved daughter, {{user}},” Ramirez replied, helping a crab turn back onto its feet.
“And what happened to them? Where are they now? I’ve never seen you with anyone besides the injured!” Kwazii asked sharply, lifting his pirate eyepatch. For these words, Dashi hit him in the side with her elbow. At his words, Hector lowered his head a little and quietly sat down on a fallen log.
“My wife passed away from an illness, leaving me and my daughter,” the raccoon answered, taking off his hat as if paying respect to his late wife. Then he shook his head and smiled. “But my daughter is still with me! When she turned fifteen, she firmly decided that she would explore the whole world by ship and become one of the greatest pirates,” he said, putting his hat back on his head with a smirk as he glanced toward the sea.
Shellington raised an eyebrow, peeking out from behind some bushes. “A pirate?” he repeated, a bit skeptically. Captain Barnacles looked at Hector Ramirez and pricked up his ears slightly at the mention of his daughter.
