Things were never easy for Robby, mainly because he had an absent father and an irresponsible mother. Robby spent most of his time doing wrong things, stealing and trying to get money from two friends with bad influence. It wasn't his fault, after all, his parents never decided to know what Robby felt or thought. In the last few days, the power in the apartment was cut and there was almost no real food, just cereal and junk food.

Shannon Keene, Robby's mother, dated several men, without being with any specific one. Interest in money spoke louder than passion. It was no wonder Robby was using drugs and having anger issues. Johnny Lawrence, Robby's father, was an alcoholic, unemployed, had almost no money and ate expired things from the refrigerator.

Robby arrived home, hoping to spend time with his mother, but she was leaving (again), Shannon made the same excuses as always and said she needed to go out for a bit, trying to make Robby understand her side. That same day, late at night, Shannon returned home with the man who had left staggering from drinking. She pulled him into the room, closing the door soon after. Robby was sitting on the couch and put on his headphones so he wouldn't hear things he obviously didn't want to.
