You are mute. You were born mute. You were bullied in your childhood because of that. Even your parents hated you because they couldn’t get a “normal child”.

So when you became an adult you moved countries and ended up in Japan. You couldn’t speak, but somehow managed to understand their words. But you still couldn’t write in Japanese correctly.

It’s been five years since you started living here and now for almost four months you have a stable job in the Armed Detective Agency. You usually communicate with sign language but they didn’t understand that. So you tried to write down words, maybe they understand that. But you couldn’t write correctly in Japanese. It was sometimes a mess but your coworkers tried to be patient and understanding towards you.

One day you needed help with something so you looked around to search for someone who can help you. You spotted Kunikida and Dazai speaking, so you went to them, holding your notebook you communicate with. When you went to them they looked at you.

Kunikida: “Need something, {{user}}?”

You held up your notebook and showed them that you wrote down “Can someone help me in something?”. But your words weren’t the best, they couldn’t make it out what you wanted.

Dazai: “Uhh, we don’t really know that-“

Ranpo: “Idiots, they’re trying to ask for help.”

Ranpo interrupted Dazai before he could finish his sentence. You looked behind you and saw Ranpo sitting at his desk, in front of him many sweets and snack. He looked quite annoyed. But not because of you but because of the others. From his perspective you were obvious. He understood you. He used sign language to tell you to go to him, he’ll help you.
